The Sound of Arrows

I love this duo back when M.A.G.I.C is released as a free download.
They sound like they belong to a Fantasy-Pop/Electronic genre.
I just made that up. Heck.
All I know is that M.A.G.I.C is an incredibly great pop song.
Don't believe me? Check this out.

MTV World Stage Live In Malaysia Last Part

Okay.
MTV really know how to throw a party!
MTV WORLD STAGE LIVE IN MALAYSIA.
Freaking awesome-ness!!!!
At first I was not too enthusiastic about the artist line up.
I dig The All American Rejects,
Pixie Lott
and Kasabian but the rest, not so much.
But it was all worth it.
They managed to drained up a huge swimming pool/man-made sea for the events.
Kinda impressive if you ask me.

The event started right on time. I'm very impressed on how MTV do things. Punctuality is a good thing. 1st performance of the night is by local band, Estranged. Don't really dig their stuff (too noisy with all those screaming) and the bass player with the huge drawn on face tattoo is fugly. But the crowd did show some lovin' for them. =) Good for them.

Boys Like Girls is surprisingly "popular" in Malaysia, even among the guys. *shocked* I saw most of them humming to the songs. *gasp*
The lead singer really know how to work a crowd though.
I don't really get much of their appeal other than their 1st single The Great Escape. Another pop rock band that is going to be forgotten by time. i.e. Faber Drive? Alien Ant Farm? Creed? Trapt? Story of the Year?

So, anyone heard of Raygun before? No? Me too.

Don't let their kid-ish band name fool you.
They are quite fun. Lead singer is very charming and their performance is very enjoyable. My bro who don't listen much to English music enjoyed their performance more than Kasabian. LOL. Their 1st single, Just Because ain't too shabby.
Indie-Pop-Soul thingy going on. Nice.
A quick google about them - RAYGUN aka the Disco Superheroes. LOL.
Their 1st single video is kinda cool.
Check it out. Here's the link.
Raygun - Just Because.

My 1st favs artist performing for the night.
Ms Pixie Lott. Give it up, give it up!
One thing for sure, this girl can sing LIVE. She sounded great, fabulous even.
Plus, she's easy on the eyes. She look so cute. She does. Maybe is the make up and stuff but no doubt that she is a pretty + hot girl who knows how to sing. Double combo! Not just a pretty face. *whip*
Turn It Up, Boys & Girls and Mama Do. The crowd did chant along with the "uh oh" part of Mama Do. Well I guess the plug in by MTVAsia before the event did manage to increase her exposure here. I enjoyed her 2nd single Boys & Girls. Fun and cherry. OMG, She's so cute. =) with the British slang.

Ms Lott Live in Malaysia
The best pic that I have since my lousy
Nokia phone camera sucks when taking pic at nite.

Next on stage was Hoobastank.
Don't really dig their new stuff. But lead singer Doug is very Asian looking. LOL.
Crawling In The Dark really got the crowd pumping. It sounded good. If you ever need a reason to love Hoobastank, seriously, you can't go wrong with The Reason. Best song ever by them. Doubt they can top that. Everyone was singing along with the band. Awwww.. what a moment. The aftermath of a great song. *Clap Clap Clap*

Doug of Hoobastank.
Nice outfit and hair. Love the hair.

Up next was The All-American Rejects.
I think their appeal is the biggest for last night even even though it was Kasabian who close the show. The Indian Guy who stand next to me started getting excited. He just stand there motionless during all the other artists suddenly got excited and started shouting when AAR is on stage. LOL. Its like someone switch on the party mode. AAR started off with Dirty Little Secrets which get everyone pumped up for their show. Tyler is covered with glittery powder. I don't have clue about why he wants to do that. LOL. He was kinda dramatic during his performance though. I Wanna is AWESOME!!!!! Love that song. Ugh. They managed to squeeze like 4 songs from their new album, When the World Comes Down from 7 songs they performed. I was hoping for Paper Heart but no such luck. I got Swing Swing though. Satisfied. It Ends Tonight is really really good. Oh, how I love that song. The ending song, Gives You Hell is just plain catchy. Everyone is singing along. The mass appeal of a bloody catchy song is so unresistable. You have to sing-along, especially the chorus.
*Don't have pic since the phone battery died on me, Boo! Lousy Nokia* :-/

The closing act, Kasabian is effin AWESOME!!!!
Gosh, again, is it me or that most of Kasabian song is made for massive crowd stadium anthem? They sounded damn great LIVE! Was totally impressed by them. It's more better than listening to the CD. Arghh.. the energy being in a live concert. Priceless! I personally think they owned it even though some of the crowd did leave after AAR. It's their lost. No doubt about it. How can you not love Kasabian? UHH-MEH-ZINGGG!!!

Kicking things off with Vlad the Impaler, 1st single of their new album, West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum. I love it. Gosh. It was so energetic. The lead singer is effin gorgeous. Love the preppy London style. LOL. Again, they are effin great live. SERIOUSLY! OMG. Usually the lead singer is the one who owned the vocal in every aspect of the song but Kasabian is different from the rest I guess. I love their backing vocals as much as their lead vocal. The song would sound so much different without the cohesiveness of everyone, drums, bass and all.

Songs list for the performance, if I'm not wrong but definitely not in this particular order - Underdog, Shoot The Runner, LSF, Where Did All The Love Go, Empire, Club Foot and Fire. I did not catch their encore performance since I gotta run before everyone is leaving at the same time and stuck in a massive traffic jam. Seriously thank god for the lead singer is all cleared out by the doctors for H1N1 virus. It would be such a bummer if they canceled their show last night.

Long Live KASABIAN! The All-American Rejects, Pixie Lott, Raygun, Hoobastank too.

Thanks MTV for such a massive event in Malaysia.
Weeeeeeeeeee....

p/s: In your face for those who sells off their tix last min, you know I'm talking about you, noobie Jon.

Owh, the show premieres on MTV Asia Friday, August 28, 2009 Friday @ 9pm (MY), 8pm (SG/HK). Check out the fabulousity of the acts mentioned above. LOL!

MTV World Stage Live In Malaysia

Do any of my few readers know about this? (Don't have much reader ^.^ but for those who read my blog, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!)

MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia

Kasabian

is headlining the show with
The All-American Rejects,

Pixie Lotts
, Hoobastank

and Boys Like Girls.

None of the acts above is my faves but I do dig the The All-American Rejects.

Paper Heart is so cute, Swing Swing & Move Along is just brilliant and catchy and It Ends Tonight is a beautiful rock ballad that I really dig. And the latest stuff by them which I really dig is I Wanna and Gives You Hell. Insanely catchy.

Kasabian's Fire is good but that is the only song that I know from them before this. Currently, I'm listening to all the acts songs especially Kasabian and The All-American Rejects stuff. Pixie's Mama Do and Boys & Girls should be entertaining enough but I doubt that many Malaysian know who the heck is she. Hmm. Hoobastank's The Reason is at one time, very effin popular in Malaysia. Overplayed by the Malaysian radio at that time. I don't really care much about Boys Like Girls cos they only have one nice song, which I can't really recall the name right now. =P

It would be fantastic IF Snow Patrol, Kings of Leon, Adele, Little Boots, La Roux, Leona Lewis, Paolo Nutini, Lily Allen or The Killers can make it. Jason Mraz is here last March but I don't mind having him again anytime soon. He's fab! Incredibly GREAT LIVE! GOOD OLD TIMES.

Owh, any recommendations of what songs I should listen by all the acts especially by Kasabian? After googling them for more info, I'm currently digging Shoot The Runner, LSF, Club Foot and Empire.

BTW, this is the 2nd time MTV Asia is having a huge event in Malaysia.
The first time is the MTV Asia Awards 2008 which I'm dying to go but couldn't get any tixs for it. The fact that the event have Leona Lewis, Super Junior, Pussycat Dolls, The Script, JabbaWockeeZ and and The Click 5.
Great list huh? For me it is. I'm more excited about this event that the current one. Meh, I sounded like some ungrateful *sshole~

One thing for sure is that I my tix here with me.
The thing is, I'm not sure whether I'm going or not. Transportation problem.
I'm hoping for the best since my supposedly good friend sold off his tix cos he needed the money. =.="

Apparently some people are making money from the tix since the MTV event is FOC if you are a telco subscriber. All you need to do is just register and redeem your tix in the nearest tix outlets. Seems like the FOC tix are done. And those who can't get the tix is paying substantial amount of money for the FOC tix.

Highest asking price: RM600! *rolling eyes* Doubt she'll manage to sell it off. LOL.

OK, nuff' ranting.
If I'm going. Woohoooooo... It's gonna be a blast for sure!
If not then too bad. :-/

SuJu + SNSD

I just realized that Super Junior is the most played/scrobbled artist in my iTunes though its highly inaccurate since I started using iTunes on 31 May 2009. LOL.

I'm not really surprised by this actually since I know my tendency to replay anything that I LOVE over and over again til I got bored with it eventually.
All I can say, few songs survived during this "torture" of my overplaying. XD

If I like more than 4/5 songs in an album.
I know I love it and have the need to rave about it.
I'm so hard to please ^.^ since I'm more to a singles kinda guy.

The thing is,
I just want you all to know that I really love Super Junior's 3rd album.

Super Junior
Sorry, Sorry.

I don't understand Korean at all.
BUT that doesn't really stop me from enjoying this album.

How can you not LOVE Sorry, Sorry (the single), It's You, Why I Like You, Monster, Heartquake, Dead At Heart, Love U More and Shining Star.

My love for Super Junior is purely because of the music since I have no idea who is who except for the few recognizable one such as Siwon, Shindong, Sungmin and Kyuh yun. 4 out of 13, not bad la hor. =)

Another album that I find myself really having a great time listening to:

Girl's Generation
2nd Mini Album - Tell Me Your Wish.

Even though there is only 6 songs in this album,
I already love 4 of it so this is like an automatic move up to the category of great stuff!
Listening to them can be so uplifting sometimes.

Boyfriend, Etude, Girlfriend and Genie is just pure pop goodness.
I don't get the mini album concept, why do you want to release a mini album when you can release a full album? *hmmm*

Anyway,
I can identify most of the SNSD girls tho.
Pretty girls that know how to sing and dance?
I'm sold.
Their video can be so adorable at times.
Gee and Genie? <3
Fav Soshi = Tiffany and Yoona.

Supposedly,
TVXQ
is the most famous group in Korea and Japan right now,
but seriously, I don't get them at all...
The song is meh, the boys is okay.
What/Where is the appeal?
Can anyone tell me? I'm just curious. =)

I can't wait to watch these two.

Sherlock Holmes

Uh, Hello! Robert Downey Junior.
Is it me or both of them have some kinda bromance going on?

-----

Julie & Julia

Princess from Enchanted and Silver Hair Devil from Devil Wears Prada?
Both are my faves actress and movies.
I'm sold. TQVM.

Sliimy + Erik Hassle + Paolo Nutini

Sliimy - Wake Up

I have no idea who is this but I can't deny the fact that this song is bloody CATCHY AND ADDICTIVE.
Oh, it's in the running for the "I-don't-understand-what-are-you-singing?" category with Shakira's She Wolf.
Is this a new trend or what?

-----

Paolo Nutini -Coming Up Easy

I don't understand what is the deal with the rabbit-man.
But I love the song though. Love his voice.

-----

Thanks to PopJustice and Ken from TheBeatReview.
I found this gem.

Erik Hassle - Don't Bring Flowers

LOVE IT!
I'm not impressed with the video though.
Ergh.
Those artists need to put more effort in making nice Music Video.

Speaking of MV, the nominees list of VMA '09 is out.
I'm rooting for Gaga, of course.
Beowulf is not my thing even though the Single Ladies is not bad.
She does look like a scary drag queen in the video.
LOL.

Have a nice day everyone. =)

Once

I'm so lazy these days to do anything.
Or maybe I'm tired mentally.
Worrying about my internship placement.
Ergh.

Anyway,
I'm currently addicted to this song.

Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová - Falling Slowly
(Once OST)

So sweet.

Jon recommended this movie like few months ago but I don't really have the mood to watch it yet.
I know I'm going to love it though.

Ulu Gombak

Ehem, I just got back from my co-curriculum - Facilitator course which includes a 2 days 1 night stay in Ulu Gombak. -=Read: Outdoor activities=-
The thing is, I don't normally like this kinda stuff.
Getting dirty?
Urgh. :S Seriously..

But the thing is....
Today, approximately 9.55am, (?)
Er.. I'm not sure of the time, but roughly around that time la.. haha..
I got soaked from the belly down =P in a MUD POOL going through a section of the jungle trekking activities.
Mind you, I'm surrounded by thorny plants.
(Got prick by it eventually)
So you can't really hold on to anything at all.
All you can do is to move your feet~ and keep yourself from getting sucked in by the mud pool.
Fuh, it sounded so damn effin extreme. (Syok Sendiri, read:getting high by yourself). LOL.

The part where we reach the river and clean up our self. Water is so clean and COOL!
Priceless.
Totally understand why people love to mandi sungai now!
Met some new friends there.
Everyone is so chill even though we got bloody muddy and dirty.
Plus the lecturer is so damn effin funny. LOL.
Oh, FPL missed out the mud pool activity but seriously I think that's her lost.
It was so fun. The feeling of getting soak and stuck in a mud pool.

I know I feel great during that time and feeling way better after manage to overcome all of it.

The jungle trekking activity today totally change my perception.
I think I need to get out and get dirty more!
Now I can't wait for all the pics! Haha, gonna be hilarious!
Those awkward moments in the mud pool and few of the challenges. LOL.

Oh, the fact I can cuci mata there today is just a plus. Ahhhh, thank God.

Great companies.
Great activities - The late night Sketch and Songs performance!
Great Mud Pool!
Great riverside hang out.
Great man-made waterfall. (A small but nice one)
Great FOOD!!!
(The caterer is seriously good, kalah those kenduri wedding few times kaw kaw.
Nasi Briyani for lunch on both days. Nasi Lemak Sambal Sotong and Nasi Goreng Kampung for Breakfast and Sup Kambing for supper, Geng hor?)
We did paid RM100 for all the foods, paperwork, accommodations and stuffs tho.
Totally worth it!

Oh,
Facilitator - PASS!
Yay!
(No one actually fail in the co-curriculum course, except if you don't really attend the class like many times).

I feel so good right now.
Even though I'm physically tired but I'm satisfied mentally after the past few hectic weeks.
