Top 30 songs of 2010: #20 to #11

Here goes part 2 of my Top 30 songs of 2010!

20. Far East Movement - Like A G6 feat The Cataracs & Dev

This is the most happening party track of the year. I still don't get the the song but oh yeah, I'm flying like a G6. *No, I don't get that too.*
More from FM: Rocketeer feat Ryan Tedder

19. Alexandra Burke - All Night Long (Remix) feat Pitbull

The 3rd and final "Alex" on my list makes its appearance at #19! To be honest, I'm not a big fan of "Hallelujah" nor "Bad Boys" but this totally seal the deal for me. Yay!
psst: Pitbull is everywhere this year and I love this the most!

18. Mini Viva - One Touch

The saddest pop music casualty this year :( What's not to love about this song? And what's not to love about Mini Viva? *sigh* Listen and you will know what I mean.
More from Mini Viva: I Wish (Cahill Remix)

17. Taio Cruz - Dynamite

How can I not put my hands in the air when I listen to this? And here I thought he can't get any better than "Break Your Heart".
More from Taio Cruz: Higher feat Kylie

16. Nicki Minaj - Right Thru Me

Who knew she can release such lovely melody with such "classy" lyrics? "You see right thru me, how do you do that sh*t?" Perfection!

15. Cee-Lo Green - Fuck You!

Fuck You? Oh yeah! You can't go wrong with a song title like that (only if you're Cee Lo or Lily Allen)!
The Glee Cast version feat. Gwyneth Paltrow ain't too shabby.

14. Graffiti 6 - Stare Into The Sun

The voice. The production. The melody. The video. There's just so many things to love about this song. Refreshingly satisfying :)
More from Graffiti 6: Annie You Save Me

13. Nelly - Just A Dream

Nelly is finally back with a bang this year. I'm surprised that a rapper can have the most "heartbreaking song of the year".

12. Adam Lambert - Whataya Want From Me

I don't watch American Idol but Lambert proved that talents really does shine brightly/loudly anywhere you go. Too bad I don't think he can top this song anytime soon.
Here's a goodie: Mash up of WWFM of P!nk and Adam.

11. Darin - Lovekiller

Why isn't Darin a breakout international popstar yet? Beats me. He is one of my faves male popstar, and his album, Lovekiller is one of the best album I've heard this year. That gotta mean something, right?
More from Darin: Drowning & You're Out of My Life

Top Songs of 2010: Honorable Mentions

The honorable mentions of the best songs of 2010 that didn't make it to my all *exclusive* Top 30 Songs of 2010! LOL.

~Why the HELL does this list come out after the #30 to #21 list? I don't know. I just recall that I need to do another list of songs that I love too :) In no particular order, here's some of the best that doesn't make it to the Top 30 songs of 2010.~

Medina - You And I (Deadmau5 remix)

One thing. Deadmau5 FTW!

Starry Eyed is great but I love this more. The falsetto at 3:18 is killing meeeeee--ehhhh~
*click on the song title for the music video*

Mark Ronson - Somebody To Love Me feat Boy George & Andrew Wyatt

Is it the lyrics? Is it my love for Andrew Wyatt's voice? Or the 80's inspired up tempo melody? I guess it's the combination of those 3 factors that make this track great.

Brandon Flowers - Crossfire

It didn't ~burn~ enough to chart at my Top 30 but definitely worth a mention here. There's a short period of 2010 where I am obsessed about this song for all the unknown reasons.

Matt Nathanson - Still

The only reason why this is NOT on my Top 30 is because it's not released this year (2008). Another absolute favorite of mine. All thanks to Mandy.

Kele - Tenderoni

No idea why the sudden changes from Bloc Party front man but I know I'm diggin' this a hell lot.

Maroon 5 - Give A Little More

Why not Misery instead? Because it's not sexy enough for me, plain and simple.

Drake - Find Your Love

I don't get the hype surrounding him but I get this song though.

*cough cough* The only song from Esmée that I love. The chorus of this song sticks to my head like a great pop song should sound.
*click on the song title for the music video*

McFly - Shine A Light feat Taio Cruz

Anything that Taio touches this year is golden, eh eh eh?

Bright Light Bright Light - Love Part II

What's with the 80's revival synth-pop-electro thingy going on? *blur* At least this guy does it well.

SHINee - Hello

I don't want to say goodbye to them. Does that count?

The National - Bloodbuzz Ohio

This song barely miss out the Top 30! I love how the lead singer's attitude shines through the song like he doesn't give a damn about it. Oh so cool~

Daft Punk - Derezzed

TRON:Legacy is saved by Daft Punk. Nuff said.

Shontelle - Impossible

Impossible? Gotta be one of the year best R&B ballad.

nb: I forgot to mention that Lady Gaga (Monster, Alejandro and Telephone) wont be appearing in my Top Songs of 2010 this year since I believe everyone knows how much I adore Lady Gaga. I just want to highlight some other amazing songs from other artists that deserve the fame and attention too :)

Top 30 songs of 2010: #30 to #21

I guess it's time for me to kick off my Top 30 songs of 2010 list! *loud imaginary hand claps from my fans and friends :)*

30. Alexis Jordan - Happiness

What's not to love about this song? Awesome beats from Deadmau5 and lovely sweet voice from Alexis. Winning combo.
Hurry, hurry, hurry, now quick, quick, quick :)

29. Alex Gaudino - I'm In Love (I Wanna Do It)

I found myself listening to this over and over again. I guess my subconscious is telling me that I'm In Love with it. Get it? LOL.

28. Usher - DJ Got Us Falling In Love Again

Whoever that decide to release DJ as a single should be given a huge arse bonus raise.
More from Usher: OMG

27. Edward Maya & Vika Jigulina - Stereo Love

Not my usual cup of tea but this is really good. It's the unfamiliar and beautiful "middle eastern" influence beats that makes this song so great. *hypnotize*

26. GaIn - Irreversible

The ONLY kpop song this year that catches my fancy. Yay! (No?)

25. P!nk - Raise Your Glass

What a great song for all the underdog, I'm definitely Raising My Glass for P!nk!

24. The Wanted - Replace Your Heart

I know this is not a single but I love this song to ~death~. Still a sucka for boyband pop. No regrets :)
More from The Wanted: Heart Vacancy

23. Example - Kickstarts

One of the finest UK rap dance track of the year. Party-must-have-music.
More from Example: Watch The Sun Comes Up

22. Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me

I feel like a douche for liking this song but I don't care because the electro beats are totally my kinda thing.
More from Mike Posner: Please Don't Go

21. Broken Bells - The Ghost Inside

I still can't get over this band and especially this song, all thanks to wwadh. This pair is just brilliant. Most underrated musician of the year.

Klaine? Blurt?

Hello peeps. It's been a long while since I post something here. I'm back! But not for long. But I can't help to gush about the next song that I'm about to post :)

GLEE's Teenage Dream

It's a no brainer that I am a huge fan of Katy Pee's original version but GLEE's version just brings it up to another whole new level of awesome. His voice, his smile, the thick eyebrows and his overall persona. Welcome Blaine aka Darren Criss! Gah, I'm just glad that Kurt finally had a chance to be happy since GLEE is definitely a show about the underdogs/minorities (one of the reason why I love that show so much). I love the fact they are handling the bullying issue too (my heart goes out to all those teens that took their lives because of bullying).

Kurt + Blaine = Klaine!!!

One of GLEE best song.

And I can safely say its vying a spot on my all time faves song position too.

ps: I can't wait for everyone's BEST OF 2010 list! :)

Linkin Park's Waiting for the End

Linkin Park's Waiting for The End

I used to be a huge fan of LP, gawd, those classic like "In The End" and "Crawling" are forever a reminder that shouting is a form of singing too. Well, I can't say the same thing about their new stuff though, "The Catalyst" doesn't excite me like how they used to, I guess I outgrown that short lil' hardcore rock phase of mine or there's just too many good pop songs out there these days! Bah~ Apparently this is the 2nd single of their new album, A Thousand Suns. You can read wwadh great review of the album by clicking here. I love the astronomy inspired video though ;)

Firework!

Katy Perry's Firework

This is definitely one of the highlights from her Teenage Dream album. I must say that she's been coming out with nice music video for her single choice except for California Gurls, there's some class issue with that video *ehem*

With this video, I gotta say it's pretty inspiring where it suits her lyrics perfectly that everyone should embrace their inner firework :) And this is the reason why she gets another A+ from mua. I love the insecure girl in the pool party scene, I can totally relate to that. Boys kissing? My kinda thing. Magician showing off to his bully? Funny! There's just so much to love in this video. While I find the inner firework exploding from the chest thingy is pretty darn ridiculous but hey, I like it :) There's gotta be fireworks in a Firework video, right? And the ending, where everyone is dancing around and there's fireworks everywhere ;) Chic and Grand! Love love love. I can safely say she's solidifying herself as one of my faves female pop star if she keep its up with brilliant song choices and great music video.

You don't have to feel like a waste of space
You're original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane comes a rainbow

Maybe you're reason why all the doors are closed
So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road
Like a lightning bolt, your heart will blow
And when it's time, you'll know
Well done, Katy! :)

BTW here's my take on her fabulous Teenage Dream music video too :)

You're A Lovekiller

Darin's Lovekiller

Finally! It's out! Gawd, I've been waiting for this to come out ever since I got hooked to his fantastic Lovekiller album last month. The fact that I don't find this song interesting in the beginning can be classified as a major offense to a major music junkie like mua. It grows on me gradually and after few plays and bam! It was ON! The synths, the soaring vocals in the chorus, the hook, the lyrics. Everything about this song works! And all thanks to Paul or I wouldn't have known the existence of this fantastic male pop star.

ps: OK, now I think I am going to have so much trouble choosing my Best 10 of '10 this year. Grrr...

You See Right Thru Me

Nicki Minaj's Right Thru Me

She came out from nowhere and now she's everywhere whether it's her solo effort or her featuring effort with some big name artist. I must say even with all that exposure, I do find her solo stuff more interesting than those collaborations except for Massive Attack, I don't get it, it sound like some bad Asian prayer song.

So yeah, back to this song, after the surprisingly good Your Love where she go all tough and Japanese in the video, she's back with her 3rd single, Right Thru Me, which is amazing where she get all sensitive and soft :) BTW great casting, that guy is fine~

I must say that I am warming up to her and this is coming from me, someone who don't dig rap as much as I want to. This is definitely one of my faves track of this year :)

Shayne's Gotta Be Somebody

Shayne Ward's Gotta Be Somebody

Yay! SNSD and Shayne in the same day? Today is definitely glorious~ :D

I have to admit I am not a big fan of Nickleback, don't ask why. They don't rock my world. That's why I'm not exactly jumping for joy when I read that Shayne is going to release a cover of this song for his comeback. But I was surprised how well this R&B rendition of this song suit his vocal and it's blardy amazing. YUP, I AM BIASED. *In the name of P!nk, SO WHAT? I have to admit that the video is a total bore tho but since there's tons of skin it in, Oh yeah! I'm a happy man :)

Runaway

Kanye West's Runaway (Full Length Film)

Kanye is back.

Oh yeah, and this time around with a 35 mins long music video?!!

This kinda self indulgence can turn out to be so crappy and pretentious if it's not done right but heck, I like it. It's actually pretty good and beautiful. I love the color palette used in the video and the leading lady Selita Ebanks is just gorgeous as the Phoenix. I read that he used some of his songs from his upcoming album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and I must say, I am genuinely interested.

I'm wearing purple today in support for the teens who took their lives because of anti-LGBT bullying.

Wearing purple on October 20 is a simple way to show the world that you stand by these courageous young people and a simple way to stand UP to the bullies. Remember those lives we've tragically lost, and show your solidarity with those who are still fighting. 'Go Purple' today!

Music Video galore

Y'all should totally check out all these video..

McFly's Shine A Light feat Taio Cruz

Pretty decent 2nd single from McFly. Nice collabo, since both doesn't really "outshine" each other in this.

Far East Movement's Like A G6

I'm pretty sure you heard this awesome track right? It's everywhere these days. The babes in the video are sizzling hot! Definitely should check out Girls On The Dancefloor.

Swedish House Mafia Vs Tinie Tempah's Miami 2 Ibiza

Don't you just hate pixels? Ugh. I feel like I'm watching those Japanese porn. Haha, btw this track is effin dope. Pretty good upgrade from One.

Mark Ronson & The Business Intl's Somebody To Love Me feat Boy George

Bang Bang Bang is decent, The Bike Song is okay, and this is another story. I lurrrve this. I'm not sure whether is the lyrics or the beats, this reminds me of Stop Me. Old skool funk with lots of nice beats.

Duck Sauce's Barbara Streisand

I don't get the band name but I get the song. Aweeesome track. I'm not sure how long I will be lovin' this but I am definitely loving it now.

Duffy's Well, Well, Well

Gawd, her voice is still so nasal. I'm not sure whether I love or hate this but it sticks to my head, is that a bad thing? Ah :/

Temper Trap's Love Lost

Can't get enough of their album, Conditions, this is totally one of the standout track, I can imagine how great this is gonna sound if they play it in a stadium, a man can dream.

I can't embed Fedde Le Grand's Let Me Be Real which is another hot track that I've been diggin' these days too.

OK, people, stay for the music :)

I've been lovin' The Gossip's Men In Love album last year even since I heard the brilliant Heavy Cross. Now after so long, they're releasing the music video for one of my faves track from that album, Men In Love.

Chaotic fun! Even though I have no idea what the heck is going on in the video. LOL. What's with the 5 hot football player at the end? Nice~

Two Door Cinema Club probably have one of my favorite album for this year. They have already released 3 singles, Something Good Can Work, I Can Talk and Undercover Martyn from the amazingly brilliant and catchy Tourist History but sadly, their songs are not charting up in the UK music scene, I wonder why.

Here's the 4th and latest single, Come Back Home.

Naked

OK. The lazy bum owner of this blog is back. Yay? :P

I've been listening to tons of new stuff these days, well, if my top 20 songs in my iPod consist only 3 top40 hits, I guess I've pretty lost with the charting these days..

Anyway, what I want to buzz today definitely have nothing much to do with their music, it's the music video that got me interested in them. Let's move on shall we.

Burhan G - Tættere På Himlen Feat. Nik & Jay

I'm surprised to say that I kinda dig this song after few rounds of listening, there's some kinda emotional baggage from how they deliver this song. I love the chorus. Plus the guys in the video are hot! Love the hot lady that's just hanging around there. ;) Thanks Jackson :)

Marcus Houston - Naked

I am not fan of his music but I am definitely a big fan of this video :) Haha.

Aiks! I can't embed the next song that I want to include here! *boo!*

Well, D'Angelo's How Does It Feel are pretty sexy and the video do bring justice to the song. I'm trying my best to sound not like a pervert here. *ehem* Supposedly D'Angelo's version is the original :) "Imitation is the highest form of flattery?"

The Truth

Kris Allen's The Truth

I am not a big fan of American Idol, so I don't quite get what is the big fuss is all about. But hey, I do like Lambert's Whataya Want From Me. One of the best song I've heard this year :) So it's a given that I don't really give much thought about Kris Allen, (hey, he's quite cute) but his 1st single, Live Like We're Dying = meh :/ just because it reminds me so much of The Script.

But hey congratulations on winning some points with me with this one. I heard The Truth few weeks back on the local radio and my noobie friend, Jon, kinda liked it (it's hard for him to like anything commercial these days) so.. there's gotta be something about this song right? :) I kinda dig it after playing it for a week. So yeah, I like The Truth.

psst: With all the symbolism in the video, I don't think I get it, yet.

One thing I get from the song. That the truth definitely hurts.

Graffiti 6

Graffiti 6's Stare Into The Sun

Did I just found my brand new faves? This is like an eclectic mix of Mark Ronson with Paolo Nutini vocal mix in, which I have to say its a bloody good combo. I always have a thing for male vocal which is a bit deep and not too shriek-y. And after watching the kooky and colorful music video and a bit of Wiki that's when I realized the vocalist for this old skool funk soul but very contemporary beats is none other than Jamie Scott, gawd knows, well, Ling knows how much I love "When Will I See Your Face Again". *fan boy scream!* Plus he's looking really good these days *cough*

Oh back to the song, I am really diggin' it. I'm boggin' my head like nobody's business. And people, that is a sign of a great great song. LOVE~

psst: The bright blue Rayban Wayfarer is so cool. I want one!

Kevin Spacey? Huh?

OK, I know sometimes I am really really slow catching up with all the supposedly goodies in the music scene. Case in point, this duo of Broken Bells self titled album which got great review by wwadh is seriously tickling my "music bone" now. Ah, how can I miss out on something so awesome? I guess I am blinded by some artist that I most probably don't listen to that much these days :(

Back to the goodies.

Broken Bells - The High Road

How can I not love something like this? It's so melodic (beats) and seductive (vocals), slowly creeping from your subconscious to your conscious state, slowly taking you into a state of high. Does any of that make any sense at all? ;) This song puts me in a very laid back state which I truly adore, I guess I should put more attention to it's lyrics. Hmm...

psst: Issit me or is that vocalist looks like Kevin Spacey?

Broken Bells - The Ghost Inside

Broken Bells - The Ghost Inside from Southbank Centre on Vimeo.

Hm, I remember watching this few months ago and I don't remember it sticking to my head as much as it does now. Of course the sexy Christina Hendricks (I love Mad Men) is the reason why I watched this video at the 1st place and I guess the timing is not right then so yeah, I am glad I finally know how to appreciate this song ;) I think two songs in a row means I have to give their debut album a spin. I am expecting goodies in it. This song is definitely a grower!

-----

On a side note, while I was blog hopping few days ago, I come across this particular song, Coquet Coquette by of Montreal. Came highly recommended by that blog. I forgot the name. haha, Sorry.

What's with the video? Crazy bloody gore version of MGMT's Electric Feel? Haha.

Errrrrr, finally, one song from the *new* Usher that doesn't actually suck or being freakishly annoying. Great job, pats on the back, great job. It's a step forward even though this do sound a tad dated, oh well. Better than BEP's OMG.

Now go and make a music video as interesting as OMG and you shall be forgiven.

Katy Gets an A+

Guess who is definitely not suffering from sophomore album slump in this unpredictable music scene? This once faux homosexual lady.

Katy Perry's Teenage Dream

Katy Perry - Teenage Dream
Uploaded by EMI_Music. - Explore more music videos.

I have to say I am not a big fan of that awful and eff-up "I Kissed A Girl". But her 2nd single, "Hot & Cold" is just poptastic, I can't deny that plus "Thinking of You" is kinda sweet, err, she even have that dude from Kyle XY in the video, so yeah :)

After the successful comeback with the "Tik Tok" sound-alike single, "California Gurls", I think I love the 2nd song of the same name from her sophomore album, "Teenage Dream" a lot more. And then she have to go and create a video like that above.

Bitch! You make regretting the fact I didn't catch you at the MTV World Stage 2010 last month :S

I just want to say that I love the song. The video is so much fun!! The sex scene is hot. She's looking gorgeous in the video, and that guy is just *drools*. So, I'm giving her an "A+" for having all the hot dudes in her music video :) Good Job! Now I can have a valid reason to love her :)

I'm The Only One In Love

Adele's Melt My Heart To Stone

Right under my feet there's air made of bricks
Pulls me down turns me weak for you
I find myself repeating like a broken tune
And I'm forever excusing your intentions
And I give in to my pretendings
Which forgive you each time
Without me knowing
They melt my heart to stone

And I hear your words that I made up
You say my name like there could be an us
I best tidy up my head I'm the only one in love
I'm the only one in love

Each and every time I turn around to leave
I feel my heart begin to burst and bleed
So desperately I try to link it with my head
But instead I fall back to my knees
As you tear your way right through me
I forgive you once again
Without me knowing
You've burnt my heart to stone

And I hear your words that I made up
You say my name like there could be an us
I best tidy up my head I'm the only one in love
I'm the only one in love

Why do you steal my hand
Whenever I'm standing my own ground
You build me up, then leave me dead

Well I hear your words you made up
So I say your name like there could be an us
I best tidy up my head I'm the only one in love
I'm the only one in love

One of my favorite song by the amazing amazing Adele.

Now this song means so much more because that is exactly how I feel right now :'(

The chorus hits home, hard.

I foolishly believe in you when you pull me in whenever you feel like it and then leave me hanging just like that, all by myself.

No worries, I am on my way to recovery now.

Because I realized that you ain't worth it. You ain't worth fighting for. You ain't worth my love for you.

Tragedies happen.

What are you gonna do? Give up? Quit? No.

I realize now that when your heart breaks,

you gotta fight like hell to make sure you're alive because you are.

And the pain you feel, that's life.

The confusion and fear, that's there to remind you that somewhere out there's something better and that something is worth fighting for.

I know someone out there is worth fighting for. I am worth fighting for :')
